Question & Answers
TOTAL Transformation 30 Day Reduce Phase Challenge
Do I need Facebook to do a challenge or to purchase a program?
To be very honest with you, you would be at a tremendous disadvantage if you don’t have Facebook while doing the challenge.  Every day of the 30 day challenge, one of the TOTAL Transformation Coaches (including Dr. Nash) come live to us with educational information, feedback, Q&As - etc. With a custom program, while some information is passed through email, the majority of your accountability and support is on your coach’s page.

We have several "high profile" people who want to remain anonymous therefore they have created fake/pseudonym FB accounts (judges, lawyers, doctors etc). That has seemed to work for them.  Something you might want to consider.

I don't know your personal reasons for not wanting to be on face book, but I can tell you this, the TOTAL Transformation team closely monitors the pages something fierce and they don't allow drama! It is a positive and very encouraging group. You will really enjoy the pages and will gain tons of encouragement from being a part of the community.
I just signed up for the challenge and paid. I haven’t received my welcome email.
Be sure to check your junk mail and all of your spam folders. We find that often times our emails fall into these folders. Also, you will want to search using the word “Kathleen Nash” and/or “info@drnash.com". Wait a few hours and check spam/junk folders again. Whitelist This Email Address (info@drnash.com) That way our emails always come to your inbox instead of spam/junk (or the Promotions or Updates tabs if you’re using Gmail).
What should I do if I have a question?
1.    Search the FAQ’s

2.    Search the T.O.T.A.L. TRANSFORMATION Facebook group page using the search function.

3.    If you still can’t find it, post as a question to the page.

4.    If NO ONE on the page knows, you can submit a ticket.
Can I have this food?
Stop trying to WORK AROUND the list. Keep it simple and FOLLOW THE LIST. If you are serious about losing weight, you will stick with what is on the list. You will do great!
Is it possible to drink too much water?
In my programs, yes, too much water can have a negative effect. This is because during my Reduce Phase your body will not be getting the hormonal signal to retain sodium, and excessive water intake will accelerate the flush of this important electrolyte. Serum (or blood level) sodium levels are critical for proper muscle and brain function so please stick with our recommendations of 64oz of water per day, no more.
Why do I feel bad or like I have the flu?
This is COMPLETELY normal as you detox off of the sugar and processed foods. This is your body purging the poisons and toxins from your body. But it could also be an indication that you are not taking in proper amounts of salt or water. Make sure to drink the 64oz of water day and to eat 1-2 teaspoons of salt per day. You will need both! Stay strong! It doesn’t last forever!
Why am I constipated or have loose stools?
Your bowel movements are changing because you have radically changed your eating. This is especially true if prior to the challenge your diet included a lot of G.A.S.S. carbohydrate or processed foods. You are also getting rid of toxins and chemicals. Your body will adjust in time. Drink plenty of water and make sure to follow the foods listed on your Food Management Plan. Consider this product if needed for constipation. http://amzn.to/2FMxZpN
Can we use gluten-free or low carb flours?
These types of foods are NOT included in ANY of my Reduce Phase programs. This is because we find it stalls your weight loss due to the hormonal and chemical reaction these types of foods have with your body.
Does tea or carbonated water count towards my daily water intake?
Only WATER counts towards your water.
Should I be concerned about my cholesterol eating all of this bacon, eggs and fat.
Recent studies have shown that it is high blood sugar levels that cause damage to arteries, not the cholesterol you eat. This is a very complicated subject, but here are some videos that will help explain. https://youtu.be/C6SVB99mJHA Also, check out this article https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22037012/ Do your own research and decide for yourself. However, during the course of the challenge I will be including more education about eating dietary fat and cholesterol.
Why can’t I drink milk?
Cow’s milk is FULL of sugar and carbohydrates! However while this is true, other dairy sources such as butter, cheese, sour cream, and heavy whipping cream have had these 2 substances removed which is why they are included in the Food Management Plan. However, you can drink UNSWEETENED almond or coconut milk, but it is our LEAST favorite option in that food category (Category C).
Can I have honey/ “natural” sugar/agave?
No. All sugars (natural or processed) are metabolized the same way in your body. These foods lead to inflammation, insulin resistance, stubborn weight gain, obesity, liver dysfunction, and certain forms of disease. You can have Stevia or Splenda to sweeten.
Can I have peanuts/peas?
No, peanuts and peas are legumes, not nuts. Please stick to the nuts indicated in your Food Management Plan.
Is it normal/okay to lose weight this fast?
In the beginning, your body is ridding itself of toxins, restoring proper pH levels, reducing inflammation, and correcting hormonal imbalances. As a result, extra body fat and water that your body was using to mitigate these issues will be released in an accelerated manner. As you progress through the Reduce Phase and your body is more metabolically corrected, your body will transition to use FAT as it’s primary fuel and scale weight will begin to slow, although it should still be accelerated! This will result in less loss on the scale, but more inch loss, smaller dress sizes, and a tighter, smaller body. This is great news!
What can I add to my coffee?
You can add heavy whipping cream and/or stevia to your coffee, but pay attention to what week of the Reduce Phase you’re in. If you are in a week with a timing strategy, only BLACK coffee is allowed outside your eating window.
What if I can’t follow the timing Strategies you recommend for the Challenge?
Some people do have restrictions to timing Strategies based on medical conditions, injuries, or certain medications that they are on. If this is your situation you can simply maintain a 3 meal method timing strategy (eating 3 meals per day). Just follow the portion sizes for 3 meal method in your Timing Strategies ebook. The metabolic correction and subsequent weight loss will still occur, but you may have more stalls or plateaus along the way. Just stay strong!
